20-second Summary
Merry Christmas! We hope and pray that your preparations for this wonderful season celebrating the birth of Our Lord have been fruitful. As we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, we reflect on His humble beginnings, and our hearts. Can we make our hearts a comfortable and desirable place for Jesus to dwell? This week’s activity is perfect, and we bet you are already doing it! May the love of Christ be with you and your loved ones today and always! Merry Christmas!

REFLECTION – It’s Time For a Merry Christmas!
Why do we love Christmas so much? It is a time of year that somehow brings out the best in most of us, we are more generous, more joyful, more patient, kind, and forgiving. We all desire family togetherness, children are looking forward to the presents, and parents are preparing for those fun surprises and making an effort to find that ONE thing their child really desires.
On the other hand, we have prepared our hearts to receive Jesus in a new and special way. We have journeyed with Mary and Joseph, making plans for the birth of a baby, start their family. A blessed event! And yet, we know what they did not – Jesus would not be born at home, with the planned midwife present and St. Anne (Mary’s mother).
Instead Jesus was born in a stable, with Joseph acting as midwife by all accounts. It was not clean, it was probably pretty dim and definitely uncomfortable! How is my heart this Christmas? Is it clean and bright and ready for Jesus? Or is it dim, dirty, and uncomfortable?
DISCUSSION – Did We Make Ourselves Ready For a Merry Christmas?
Advent is over. We are now celebrating Christmas – Jesus’ birthday. Talk about how your preparations went. Were they helpful? Did they fall to the wayside as the present-buying, gatherings, and other “things” came up? We take a moment and ask, “What were we waiting for? Preparing for?” He is HERE, right now, PRESENT in our lives. Let us continue to make room for Him in our hearts and lives!
ACTIVITY – Celebrate a Merry Christmas!
This week, celebrate Christmas! All the activities, travels, visits, fun things we will do are to celebrate the Truth of our faith – Jesus became human and came to save us from the death of sin and give us new birth. Celebrate the fact that Jesus saves! Emmanuel, Alleluia! And most importantly, remember to go to Christ’s Mass – Christmas – on this wonderful Holy Day of Obligation!

One of the seven social teachings of the Catholic Church, caring for our earthly home is intimately connected to every part of our life.
After quoting an 80s video game and Monty Python, Beth and Kristofer dive into this topic with Kristofer making sure everyone knows he is not a tree hugger.
Then they go on identifying birds and trees as they walk by. Well, the topic is what the topic is – and they do answer the question we all have about that environment issue.
Yeah, that one.
