Advent Resources
To the Father, through the Son, in the Holy Spirit!Advent is the first season in our Liturgical Year. There are four Sundays in Advent and the length depends on Christmas. It can be as long as 28 days, or as short as 22. The season is marked by the violet color of the altar linens, vestments, and the Advent wreath candles. Typically the parish church decorates for Advent in a subdued but celebratory manner. Expectant, preparatory waiting is the theme of Advent. We all collectively journey with Mary and Joseph as they await the birth of their son. We are waiting for the arrival of our Savior!
In our homes we may already have the Christmas decorations up, but it is important to prepare our hearts and souls properly for Christmas, This is where the Church excels, and we want you to have the resources to prepare yourself and your whole Domestic Church for the coming of Christ.
